Monthly Meetings

Each month the Social Studies of Outer Space Network hosts an online monthly meeting. These gatherings bring together scholars involved in or interested in the social sciences of outer space. Participants come from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds, but early career scholars are especially encouraged to join.

Monthly meetings are an informal space to to socialise, talk through ideas, share resources, and circulate opportunities. Participants are also welcome to present their ongoing work and solicit feedback from other members. Each month is loosely organized around a theme; previous themes have ranged from academic issues such as methodological challenges, publication struggles, and pedagogical approaches to more general topics such as the moon, conflicts in space, and space current events. More than anything, these meetings are a way to stay in touch with researchers around the world and interactively grow the Social Studies of Outer Space Network, so we are always open to hear suggestions and ideas for activities.

Meetings last one hour and take place every month. We announce the date, time and subject in advance through the SSOS network mailing list, so please sign up to the list here.

If you have any questions, suggestions or need help signing up to the list, you can always contact us here.
